I have walked three of the four arterial roads (not Claypole) and I have collected seen very little litter. It’s very evident the residents of our village are keeping the verges clear. For example, I walked down Dry Doddington Road and placed these cans together and planned to collect when I had a bag on my next walk. However, I needn’t have worried as they were gone.
Also, the Parish Council rightly have planned to have a litter pick, see e Parish Council Meeting Minutes dated 23 June 2021, see the extract below. Judging by my evidence the pick may not be required, which is quite extraordinary.
Village litter pick – Cllr Davis informed the council that the litter pick had not been arranged due to the restrictions around Covid-19. He stated that the verges were overgrown at the moment so litter picking would be a waste of time. He suggested an autumn date when the vegetation will have died back. Cllr Maughan offered to provide information on the verge cutting dates so that any date chosen could coincide with the verges being cut back.
